About

Katerina has been taking photos for many years, but has become more serious about the art of photography within the last eight. She originally started taking shots of her children, and later started exploring other areas of photography such as landscape, macro, wildlife, and sports photography.   After obtaining her Creative Photography certificate from Tunxis Community College, she has continued to expand her repertoire into portraits, night, astrophotography, and product photography.

Her macro photograph of an “American Lady” butterfly (shown below) was selected as a finalist among 9000 submissions in Birds and Blooms magazine for their Backyard Photo Contest, and was published in their December/January 2018 issue, as well as in their August/September 2019 feature story on Butterflies in Focus.  Her work has been displayed at the Farmington Libraries Fall 2016, Winter 2018, and Fall 2018 Fine Art Photography Art Shows, Southington Public Library’s April 2017 - Artist of the Month, The Winter 2022-2023 “A Missing Peace,” and Fall 2023 “A Closer Look … Perspectives from Five Women” exhibits at the Monastery Gallery of Art.
